The article, although it confirms essentially nothing, seems to make points that are for the most part sensible. Unfortunately, it's been nearly half a year since the game was announced and we've heard nothing about it. I wish we knew something about agent, other than it being a PS3 exclusive...
GRAN TURISMO 5
well the skins are in the bag, I hope it's just the timing of release for each that's off...
Of keeping up with the periodic DLC's, not to mention keeping a good amount of content free. Although I won't mind paying for the later DLC's at all; I actually plan on it, Uncharted 2's multi-player keeps me coming back to it.
Geeze, is there anything Polyphony can't do? It tracks a car's position and reproduces it exactly in game; I don't know how much more you can simulate anything, driving or whatever else lol.
But this is in fact, the REAL driving simulator...
Can't wait for this game :)
We, the fans are what made Gran Turismo huge lol.
Well done Sony and Naughty Dog, Uncharted 2 is a masterpiece.
The REAL Driving Simulator.
As soon as GT5 is out, I'll be hooked, and I won't play the other great PS3 titles coming out...Someone's gonna have to pry my G27 out my hands to get me to play something else XD
"Clearly the guys at Polyphony have been doing something about development, as GT5 plays exactly like Gran Turismo 4, Prologue, or GT PSP, only with more horsepower under the hood and with all the requisite updates needed to keep a long-standing series fresh over the years (just how you would expect it to play, basically)."
Oh, the fallacy of this comment... I'm starting to believe this wasn't a 'Hands-on' Impression
Woah, chill on FM3 guys. I'm a big fan of racing games, and FM3 is definitely better than most of them out now. I might even get the 2nd DLC pack.
But then there's GT5... I really don't need to tell you that all else will become irrelevant once it's released...
Used a lot Ferrari 458 Italia footage. Would have preferred some footage from the prologue trailers but still a great trailer.
Ooh... I'm definitely diggin the Porsche Boxster S, that'll be the first car I try out.
And of course I'll have to take the R8 LMS around La Sarthe for a few laps :)
My question is, will the frame-rate generally be closer to 30 or 60 while playing?
"We're putting our early bets on Gran Turismo 5, natch -- provided it actually comes out this year. But we digress. "
You can't be serious. GT5 is about to redefine the Genre...again.
Polyphony digital is one of the most talented developers out there. Let them take their time. It's not like it needs years more development time, just a few months.
The fact they someone would question the quality of the soon to be released GT5 makes the article itself irrelevant...
500k polys? That's simply unprecedented in any game.
But this of course is the Real Driving Simulator...
"Simple, deep, and a car-lover's dream."
:)
